The Sculpture Department is dedicated to sculptural works produced between the 14th century and the early decades of the 20th century. There are many top lots handled by the Sculpture Department, including the Saint Sebastian by artist Pietro Lombardo, which sold in 2016 for € 198,200, the two bronze portraits of Socrates and Demosthenes, which sold in 2022 for € 122,500, or the striking Saint Bernard of Clairvaux by sculptor Giovanni Antonio Amadeo, which sold in 2023 for € 57,600. Moving chronologically, we can instead mention works such as Medardo Rosso's Aetas Aurea, which sold in 2014 for € 337,500, Rembradt Bugatti's Petite panthère marchant and Auguste Rodin's L'éternel printemps, which sold in 2021 for € 150,000 and €225,000 respectively, to Antonio Canova's beautiful Bust of the Blessed Virgin, which sold on 8 November 2023 for € 1,034,800.
