We are pleased to announce the upcoming event dedicated to Works on Paper, scheduled to take place from November 17 to 24, 2024. The works will be available for viewing at our Florence location, Borgo degli Albizi 26.
On this occasion, drawings, prints, and engravings spanning from the 16th to the 20th century will be offered at auction. Among the highlights are a refined Saint John the Baptist by Abraham Bloemaert, a powerful biblical scene by Gioacchino Assereto depicting Moses striking water from the rock, and delicate red-chalk studies attributed to Johann Elias Ridinger.
For the 19th and 20th centuries, a section will be devoted to Neapolitan painting, featuring drawings by Giuseppe, Gabriele, and Consalvo Carelli. Other Italian schools will be represented by pen and brown ink works by Boldini, Signorini, Costetti, and Viani. There will also be room for artists from beyond the Alps, including a selection of works by Adolf Hirémy Hirschl and charming female portraits by Henry Somm.
In the field of printmaking, noteworthy pieces include the Portraits of the Medici series engraved by Adriaen Haelwegh, an important group of etchings by Giovanni Fattori, and three xilographs with their original matrices by Lorenzo Viani.
The Works on Paper Department will be available to conduct confidential and private valuations. To obtain further information about the auction, please feel free to contact us at: wop@pandolfini.it
