Pandolfini's Wine & Spirits department returns to the rooms of Palazzo Ramirez Montalvo after the summer break with an extraordinary selection of wines and spirits carefully chosen from wineries and collections from all over the peninsula: and from one of these comes the first great auction session. It starts on Tuesday 10 November with a selection of lots all coming from a single property in northern Italy: an extraordinary collection of all the main local and French labels: Conterno, Sassicaia, Masseto, Giacosa, Romanée Conti, Mouton Rothschild, Dom Perignon, Armand Rousseau, and the list goes on and on. Many large formats, with bottles that reach up to Balthazar gargantuan (12 liters). A collection for true connoisseurs!
The morning ends with a selection, coming from another cellar, of twelve verticals of some of the most important labels in all of Tuscany: the owner has created over time a collection that can only be considered one of a kind, transforming these lots in works of art, witnesses of the evolution of Tuscan enology.
The second session, which will take place in the afternoon of the first day, will cover Italian wines, with all the protagonists of the Belpaese carrying our flag high in the international markets. There are many lots of Brunello and Super Tuscan, but of particular level this year is the selection of Piedmontese wines present in the catalog: numerous bottles, even in large formats, of Barolo Monfortino by Giacomo Conterno and Labels Rosse by Bruno Giacosa, with vintages ranging from the recent 10s to the 50s of the last century. Bottles now practically unavailable.
Wednesday 11 will begin with the third session, dedicated to the region that produces the finest wines in the world: Burgundy. Lots of the most important estates are offered for auction: from the ruby red Chambertin of Rousseau and Leroy to the golden yellow of the Corton-Charlemagne of Coche-Dury, never as many as in this catalog. In the early afternoon we still stay in France, with lots from the other major producing regions: the full-bodied Rhone, the sparkling Champagne and, of course, the noble Bordeaux. Hermitage Chave, Louis Roederer, Lafite Rothschild are just some of the names you will find in this session.
At the end of the sale, we will offer our customers a large and eclectic selection of spirits, with particular attention to scotch whiskey and its main distilleries; not only Macallan, but also the other big names of the Highlands and Islay, such as Ardbeg and Bowmore. In particular, a bottle of Bowmore from 1957 aged 38 years, in the original collector's wooden box, will close the auction: a must-have for any true collector, that will set the room on fire.
The appointment with this Odyssey in the world of Wine & Spirits is set for 10 and 11 November in Florence, at our headquarters in Palazzo Ramirez Montalvo. We hope to see you personally in our rooms, ready to welcome you in complete safety, but, if you can't, we remind you of the possibility to participate also with written offers, by telephone with our operators, or online, thanks to our Pandolfini Live platform.
