We are pleased to announce the first 2026 event of our Old Master Paintings Department with the ARCADE | PAINTINGS FROM THE 15th TO THE 20th CENTURY auction, which will be held on March 11, 2026, in Florence at our historic venue, Palazzo Ramirez Montalvo.

In the catalogue, collectors, scholars, and enthusiasts will have the opportunity to admire a carefully curated selection of works on canvas, panel, copper, and stone. Highlights undoubtedly include a masterpiece by Andrea Commodi, widely published and exhibited at the Uffizi in 2014; an unpublished Antonio Molinari depicting Angelica and Agricane; and an unpublished Head of a Bearded Man in Profile, attributed by Donatella Biagi Maino to Ubaldo Gandolfi, commented on by the scholar as follows: “this splendid male bust is admired for the felicity of its execution, in the richness of its luminous material” and for the “[…] astonishing rendering of details.”

In addition, a selection of panel paintings will be presented, ranging from the earliest Madonna and Child by a Venetian painter active between the late 14th and early 15th century, to the Wedding at Cana by a Florentine painter from the late 16th century.

The department is at your disposal to submit confidential and discreet evaluations. For further information regarding the auction, please kindly contact us at dipintiantichi@pandolfini.it
