A PAINTING, JAPAN, 19TH CENTURY
This attributed painting on silk depicts two intertwined koi fish eating bamboo seeds. The koi, symbols of perseverance, strength, and good fortune in Japanese culture, are illustrated with great attention to detail, especially in their scales and fins. The artwork is accompanied by calligraphy in the lower right corner, dating it to the Kyowa period and the year Shinyu, corresponding to 1801.

Questo dipinto su seta attribuito, raffigura due carpe intrecciate che mangiano semi di bambù. Le carpe, simbolo di perseveranza, forza e buona fortuna nella cultura giapponese, sono illustrate con grande attenzione ai dettagli, soprattutto nelle squame e nelle pinne. L'opera è accompagnata da una calligrafia nell'angolo inferiore destro, che la data al periodo Kyowa e all'anno Shinyu, corrispondente al 1801.
