L'ispirazione per questa collezione fu la "Guerra delle Due Rose" fra la House of York e la House of Lancaster per il trono d'Inghilterra. Questo periodo della storia, tra 1455 e il 1487, prende il nome dai distintivi araldici delle due casate reali. La rosa bianca rappresentava la casa of York e la rosa rossa la casa dei Lancaster. Le rose sono quindi il principale elemento decorativo delle penne stilografiche Montegrappa York e Lancaster in edizione limitata, che compaiono a rilievo sul corpo e il cappuccio in argento della penna.
The Inspiration for this collection was the "30 Years War of the Roses" between the House of York and the House of Lancaster for the throne of England. This period in English History, circa 1455-1487, is named after heraldig badges of the two apposing royal houses. The white rose of the House of York and the red rose of the House of Lancaster. Roses are therefore the main decorative feature of the limited edition Montegrappa York and Lancaster fountain pens, appearing along the cap and barrel in shallow silver relief.
