After more than fifty years out of the public eye, a rare fragment of Beato Angelico’s ‘Tebaide’ has resurfaced and is now up for auction at Pandolfini
in Florence. The work, which has been missing from circulation since 1970 but has always been at the centre of critical debate, is linked to another fragment held at the Szépmuvészeti Múzeum and to the famous ‘Tebaide’ in the Museum of San Marco.
