Chiara Nicolini is Head of the Books, Manuscripts and Autographs; member of the “Collegio Lombardo Periti Esperti Consulenti” and director of “Aldus Club - Associazione Internazionale di Bibliofilia”, has been active in the field of old and rare books since 2000 and has collaborated with Pandolfini Casa d’Aste since 2013.
     She began to deal with old and rare books starting from her degree dissertation on British women illustrators of children’s books between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which opened to her the doors of the English antiquarian market of books, where she moved the first steps of her career. After four years of activity in prominent London antiquarian bookshops, on her return to Italy she embarked on a consultancy activity for libraries, antiquarian booksellers and private collectors, occupations to which, starting in 2015, she added the drafting of insurance appraisals. As director of Aldus Club, she created in 2019 the “Premio Aldus Club”, an award for young collectors, and she regularly holds online meetings dedicated to bibliophilia. She writes articles for bibliophile magazines and participate in seminars and conferences. She was interviewed by “IO Donna”, the Saturday supplement of the “Corriere della sera”. In 2021, year of celebrations for Dante Alighieri, she co-curated the exhibition “Un viaggio lungo settecento anni. Immagini per la Divina Commedia” (tr. A journey along seven hundred years. Images for the Divine Comedy) and held a series of conferences on the subject.
