A STATUE, CHINA, QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
Gilt-wooden body figure of the Bodhisattva Guanyin seated, Qing Dynasty 18th century
Sitting cross-legged, with the Śaranagamana-Mudrā(施依印）and the hand holding the neck of a flower. The three fingers pointing upwards represent the three jewels of Buddha（佛）, Dharma（法） and Sangha（僧）. The statue has a solemn appearance, with a high bun, rounded facial lines and full cheeks, the eyes slightly closed, and a generous expression. The upper arm is covered with a precious armlet and a drape of silk floating around it, and the ornament（Yingluo）is covered with a necklace. The skirt of the dress falls naturally over the legs, as it does in traditional Chinese painting, and floats like a flowing cloud.

全跏趺坐，施依印且手拈花颈。 向上三指代表皈依佛、法、僧三宝。这座像其宝相庄严，发髻高束，面部线条润圆，脸颊丰满，眼睛微闭，神情宽容。 上臂着珍贵臂钏，披帛绕浮其间，胸前戴着璎珞。 衣裙自然的散在腿上，仿若中国传统绘画中那样，像流动的云彩一样飘散着。
STATUA, CINA, DINASTIA QING, SEC XVIII
in legno laccato e dorato raffigurante Guanyin seduto in maniera pallaṅka alla mano destra gestisce Śaranagamana-Mudrā. Le tre dita rivolte verso l'alto rappresentano il rifugio nei Tre Gemme di Buddha, Dharma e Sangha. Si presenta con i capelli pettinati in un’acconciatura alta, con il profilo della faccia rotondo e le guance piene, con gli occhi leggermente chiusi e clementi. Entrambe le braccia indossano ornamenti da braccio con uno stile prezioso, indossa Keyūra (璎珞) su petto. L' abito nella parte inferiore ricade sulle gambe e si diffonde come una serie di nuvole in movimento che scorrono e fluttuano, come nei dipinti tradizionali cinesi.
