La Jaguar è stata capace di costruire un vero mito con le sue automobili che univano il lusso assoluto con le prestazioni sportive. Forse il modello più riuscito fu la berlina XJ lanciata nel 1968 e sviluppata fino alla fine degli anni ‘80.
Nel 1973, con la Seconda Serie, la gamma XJ si arricchì di una elegantissima versione a due porte. In quel momento storico, sia di qua che di là dell’Atlantico, le grandi berline con due porte e una linea leggermente più sportiva godevano di un momento di successo. Questo modello, declinato col sei cilindri bialbero da 4,200 cm3 e col V12 da 5,300 cm3, fu giudicato unanimemente come il capolavoro di Sir William Lyons.
La XJC presentata oggi ha la motorizzazione a sei cilindri da 4,2 litri, molto più semplice della pur fascinosa V12, ed il cambio meccanico: la combinazione perfetta per le strade italiane.
La vettura è in buone condizioni ed ha recentemente ricevuto molti interventi per migliorare la parte meccanica, mentre la carrozzeria e gli interni avrebbero bisogno di cure.
La vettura è in ottime condizioni meccaniche ma, non essendo stata usata negli ultimi tre anni, per sicurezza consigliamo all’acquirente di sottoporla a un controllo e di sostituire i fluidi, i filtri e particolari deperibili.

Jaguar Cars has been able to build a real myth with its motor cars which managed to have sporting performance and luxury finish. Perhaps their most successful model was the XJ saloon, launched in 1968 and developed until the end of the 1980s.
This model, based on the fabulous six-in-line and later the V12, was once considered the best car in the world and surely Sir William Lyons’ masterpiece.
With the Second Series launched in 1973, the XJ range received a very elegant two door version. In that period, on both sides of the Atlantic, big saloons with just two doors and a sportier line were very successful.
The XJC we have for sale has the simpler 4,2 litre six cylinder and a manual gearbox: the perfect combination for European touring.
The car is in good condition and has recently been worked on to perfect its mechanicals, and it’s now the bodywork and interior turn to receive some good care.
This vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition but for safety reasons, we advise the purchaser to have it checked over and to replace the fluids, filters and perishable elements.
