The Porsche 911 has been produced since 1963 in many versions. Generally speaking, one can separate those with an air-cooled engine (1963-1997) and those with a liquid-cooled engine (since 1998).
Born as a 2+2 Coupé, soon a “Targa” version was launched. This had a substantial roll over bar, because at the end of the 1960s the markets (the American one in particular) were not too keen on full convertibles, for safety reasons.
Those who still wanted a full convertible had to wait until the 1980s, when finally a ragtop 911 became available.
This 1988 911 is from the last part of the “luftgekuhlt” (i.e. air-cooled) period, and as such is very sought after.
It has been imported in Italy in 1992 and ever since it has been cared for by official dealers, as the Service Booklet proves.
It is in perfect conditions and ready for great open-air summer motoring!
The vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition but for safety reasons, we advise the purchaser to have it checked over and to replace the fluids, filters and perishable elements.
