THE MOST MODERN CLASSIC BRITISH ROADSTER

MG started as a Morris Garage in Abingdon, Oxford, then developed as the builder of high performance versions of the Morris family saloons: just like today’s AMG or M do for Mercedes-Benz or BMW!

In the post-war years, they produced a number of ‘vintage’ sportcars, the “T” Series, then in 1955 came the “A” with its delightful and curvaceous body, and finally in 1963 the “B”.

This was, at long last, a modern sportcar with a monocoque body, a generous 1800 engine, and a Coupé version. In various versions -some with six or eight cylinder engines- it soldiered on until the very end of the 1970s, when MG and its factory closed down.

Towards the end, the MG B received new rubber bumpers that were required by the American safety law. The car we offer today started life like this, being delivered in Texas: it then was imported in Italy in 2009.

On arrival, it was completely restored at great expense, and converted to the more elegant 2nd Series “Chrome Bumper” configuration, which still sports today, having been carefully maintained ever since.

The vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition but for safety reasons, we advise the purchaser to have it checked over and to replace the fluids, filters and perishable elements.
