AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF THE BEST BRITISH SALOON

In the 1950s Jaguar was masterfully steered by Sir William Lyons from ‘specialist’ to ‘mainstream’ automotive industry.

The key of this development was the hugely successful XK engine, and the compact sports saloons: the 1955 “2.4 Litre” (later retrospectively called MkI) and the 1959 “MkII”.

This model, produced with 2400, 3400 and 3800 engines, was produced in 82,208 units.

The car on offer today is a 3400, i.e. the most balanced of the three: not so nervous as the 3800, but much more powerful than the 2400. It was produced in 28,600 units.

This exceptional MkII has been thoroughly and expertly restored around three years ago and has perhaps the most classic livery: metallic dark green with beige interior. Leather and wood are just perfect on this car, as is the drivetrain.

A very rare opportunity to acquire a perfect car, on which someone else has invested more restoration money and time.

The vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition but for safety reasons, we advise the purchaser to have it checked over and to replace the fluids, filters and perishable elements.
