Jewellery, watches and silverware are offered on sale in a single catalogue, twice a year, in December and in the Spring.
The types of jewels offered on auction are extremely varied, ranging from articles of ancient gold and silverware to recent and contemporary articles, without neglecting the unset precious stones.
Among the period jewels that are particularly appreciated are the artefacts in which precious workmanship is combined with a good state of conservation, thus rendering the piece attractive from the collectors’ point of view. The nineteenth-century jewels are greatly appreciated, partly because their imaginative shapes, combined with the use of materials that are not necessarily precious, mean that they are both attractive and also within the range of a large bracket of the public. Constant presences are the Art Deco jewels, made of platinum and brilliants, often bearing the prestigious signatures of the time, such as Cartier, Van Cleef or Boucheron, and the jewels of the 40s and 50s, with their characteristically pronounced forms, almost always in yellow gold enhanced with stones – frequently coloured – and enamels. Then there are the big names of modern and contemporary jewellery (from the 60s up to today), of which we mention only a few: Bulgari, Buccellati, Pomellato, as regards the Italian scene, and then Tiffany & Co., Cartier and David Webb. Considerable space is also devoted in our sales to stones for setting, known as “for investment”, which are always provided with gemmological certificates issued by an internationally recognised body.
